Donald C. Kemp collection. 1870-1949 (bulk 1930s)

This collection contains photographs taken or reproduced by Donald C. Kemp. Box 1 holds 80 black and white 8 x 10" prints, which include many views of people and sights in the southwest corner of Boulder County, Colo. (the vicinity of Eldora and Nederland, especially) where Kemp's father lived in the booming mining days of the 1890s. Kemp took most of these photos himself in the 1930s; A. M. Thomas and Harry H. Lake took most of the early views around the turn of the century. Boxes 2 and 3, which are very large, contain 70 display-quality mounted photos, most size 11 x 14", in mats size 50 x 39 cm., which Kemp prepared for an exhibit that was displayed at the Chicago (Ill.) Camera Club and other cities east of Colorado around 1940. Some of the photos in these boxes are enlarged duplicates of prints that are in box 1. (These two boxes are oversize and are shelved under BHS 1138).

150 photographs, in three boxes.
